Family involvement

As early childhood educators, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. The best outcomes for children occur when teachers and family members work together. At Stafford Heights Kindergarten we provide authentic opportunities for families to contribute to their child’s learning.

Parents are welcome to join their children for a play morning at kindy and we encourage family members to contribute to our broad program by sharing their unique skills and expertise through a session with the class, if they wish to do so. Examples of this include demonstrating their occupation to the class; sharing their hobby through a craft or hands-on experience; or explaining their culture through dance or food.

As a community-based kindergarten, the centre is operated by a Parent Management Committee. Getting involved in the running of your child’s kindy is a rewarding experience and ensures you have a say in your child’s education.

All families support the upkeep of the kindy grounds through our maintenance programme. This involves voluntary assistance with mowing, gardening and other small jobs, just twice per year, plus one group working bee. By contributing to this maintenance as a community, we are able to keep our fees as low as possible.
